Oval diamonds
An oval is a modified brilliant, so it holds the sparkle of a round while spreading its weight over a longer surface, which makes it read larger than a round of the same carat and lengthens the line of the finger. The shape is prone to a bow-tie, the dark band across the centre caused by facets shadowing one another, and how visible that is comes down to proportion. Growing the stone in a lab lets us set the length-to-width ratio and the depth so that the bow-tie can be managed at the stone’s origin. Ethically sourced natural diamonds are available upon request. Set low-profile in a bezel or with minimal claws, handcrafted in Sydney.
