Baguettes were the Art Deco jeweller’s geometry tool. The name comes from the French for a rod, and the baguette is a step cut, with facets running as long parallel planes that give broad flashes of light. Set in a line, the stones read as a continuous ribbon that lights up all at once as the body turns. Zyra sets each baguette in its own bezel, flush to the finger or the ear, wrapping and protecting the sharp corners, which are the first part of this cut to chip. The flush setting also spreads contact across the entire edge of the stone, which enhances durability and longevity. It comes in several widths in rings and earrings, all designed to stack and pair with other pieces of the Leil modular system.
