Bespoke
We design for the decade ahead, so bespoke sits at the heart of what we do. A bespoke commission is a design tailored to you and built to suit your everyday life, so you can wear it for years. It begins with a conversation. Before sketches, before stones, before any decision is made, we listen, because our first task is to understand how you live, what you value, and what this piece needs to become.
First appointment
The process starts with an initial consultation, in person at our Sydney studio or by phone or video call. It is an open conversation, covering your ideas, your lifestyle, your aesthetic, and any references you have gathered. We also talk practically about budget, timeline, and the occasions and settings where the piece will be worn.
There is no pressure to arrive with a fully formed concept. Many clients come with a feeling or a few loose ideas, and part of our role is to help shape those into something concrete and structurally sound. By the end of the appointment, we share an understanding of the direction, having talked through stone options, metal choices, and how the piece will hold together. If lab-grown or custom-grown stones are of interest, we outline what is possible, and we offer ethically sourced natural diamonds on request.
Design development
After the consultation, we begin design work, which for every bespoke client includes 3D renders. We present options and refine them against your feedback, usually across one or two revisions, since we aim to get it right the first time and generally do. Renders are the ideal format for adjusting proportions, exploring alternatives, and settling the finer details, and the goal is a design that feels right before any metal is touched. Once the design is approved, we source or commission the stones. For custom-grown lab diamonds, this adds time, and it gives you precise control over colour, cut, and carat.
Crafting
With the design finalised and the stones in hand, the piece moves into production at our Sydney studio. Our master artisans cast, set, file, and polish, each step done by hand with the precision that defines Leil’s work. If any questions or opportunities arise during making, we consult you before proceeding.
Delivery and beyond
When the piece is complete, we arrange delivery or an in-person collection at the studio. We walk you through the finished work, explain how to care for it, and make sure everything meets your expectations. The relationship does not end at delivery. We offer cleaning, maintenance, and resizing, and many clients return to add to their collection over time, with new stacking bands and complementary pieces that build on what came before. The bespoke process is the beginning of an ongoing conversation.
Timeline
A bespoke piece typically takes three to eight weeks from first consultation to delivery, depending on complexity and whether custom-grown stones are involved. We recommend starting early, particularly for engagement rings or pieces tied to a specific date.
