In architecture, light is a material. It shapes how a space is inhabited, how it feels at dawn, at noon, and at dusk. Our founder Rebecca El Morr applies the same principle to jewellery. A Leil ring is structured so that gold and stone work in tandem, with stepped planes directing reflection and measured proportions creating scintillation. The aim is a piece that answers real light, shifting as you move through the day, in daylight and in movement, the way a ring is seen. This is what we mean by capturing light: holding it as it moves and answering as it changes.
Leil takes its name from the quality of light between sunset and dusk. The brand is built on capturing, reflecting, refracting, and dispersing light as it shifts through the world, a constant movement, a flux between light and shadow, a moment between tradition and innovation. That quality runs through the pieces: the contrast between metal and stone, the interplay of light and shadow set up by a bezel or a shape, the glimmer of tiny hidden diamonds. Gold reflects and diamond refracts, and together they answer light with purpose. Geometry becomes gesture and material becomes memory, a complete cycle mirrored in the sun’s path and the shift between day and night.
